Wishlist 2016

2016 is nearly half-way over and like any other bibliophile on a budget I’m sat here deciding what to read next.

With a heavy heart I’ve been able to short-list a few of the titles (from the hundreds) that I want to read A.S.A.P. and have mentioned why I want to read them.

Now without further ado let’s begin!

1) Outlander (series) – Diana Gabaldon

Outlander was published way before I was born so for the longest time I wasn’t aware of the hype surrounding it. So last year I accidentally began watching the TV-show and immediately fell in love with it. It has all of my favorite elements : romance, sci-fi, mystery, historical fiction, hot men in kilts (to be read Sam Heughan) etc. Now season 2 is nearly over (haven’t watched it yet) and I’ve decided that I’m going to give the books a try – because it is an unwritten fact that the books are always better than the TV-show/movie (eg: twilight)

2)Illuminae – Amie Kaufman , Jay Kristoff

I admit to being slightly jealous of anyone who already owns this book. Have you looked at it? It’s aweosme! Not only is it designed in a cool way but I’ve heard that the story-line is epic as well. It definitely is the best of both worlds and I can’t wait to get it.

3) The Secret Keeper – Kate Morton

I’ve read “The House At Riverton” and absolutely loved it. This is Kate Morton’s highest rated book and has been on my TBR ever since it came out and it’s high time I finally read it.

4)The Vegetarian – Han Kang

This book was recently translated into English and has won the “2016 Man Booker International Prize” (amongst other awards). The cover is beautiful and the plot seems intriguing. What more could I want?

What book would you suggest I read first? (comment below)

TILL NEXT TIME ❤

        1. Definitely. Although I mailed them fifteen days ago they still haven’t replied. I’ve heard the service is satisfactory -you only have to get them to respond to your email😭

  1. I did not know that Outlander was that old 😮😮😮. I really wanna read it too.
I think you should go for Illuminae even though I haven’t read it but I have heard ALOT about it.

  2. These all look great to me and are all on my TBR list as well. But I don’t own any of them yet 😦 I would highly recommend Outlander for your next choice just because it sounds especially epic.

    1. The dilemma of every bookworm out there – we have so many books that we’d like to read but we’re always(mostly)broke *sobs*
I’m trying to find the entire outlander series at a local thrift store to save cash. Wish me Luck 🙂

  3. Good choices there! I’ve only read the Secret Keeper, which I definitely recommend. I loved her book the Lake House and coincidentally I have The Shifting Fog aka The House At Riverton on my TBR pile 🙂 The Vegetarian sounds really good – I’m adding it to my list and Illuminae I have heard a lot of good things about. Good luck deciding!

    1. Have you read the thirteenth tale? It’s so good.
The Vegetarian is really expensive so I might have to save up for that for a while and illuminae is out of stock at most bookstores so I’ll have to wait for it too =(
But I am definitely getting The Secret Keeper this weekend =)
